Pros

Cross-training and making best use of current skills while improving weaknesses. Strong, consistent performance of technicians and engineering with an old school "roots" feel. Enjoyed interactions and positive vibe. Employee empowerment.

Cons

Large temporary workforce makes it a fight for permanent positions. Engineers and assemblers treated as upper and lower classes with no middle class for technicians as they are viewed as a non-value added commodity. A tech implies a problem within the process attitude. This is very subtle and my only Con. Most might not notice. Oh, you can golf your way up the ladder. As a PGA sponsor they love golf - unfair to those who don't. Minor Cons.

Pros

The team is great and people are excited to have you there. You are given value-added work and projects week 1. There are a lot of other interns at both the graduate and undergraduate level so there is a strong sense of intern community and support. If you have to relocate for the internship, complete housing is provided (they find you an apartment and pay for everything - results on the apartment itself may vary but are generally close to the office).

Cons

Varying start dates led to varying first day experience. The onboarding day for those who had it day 1 was great, but some interns got it after their first week and had little direction day 1.
