Pros

Pay is OK but benefits have eroded greatly since Honeywell took over Allied Signal. People are friendly & helpful. Unlimited overtime (if that's what you want).

Cons

Worst mentoring ever. Absolutely no help from managers, supervisors or workflows. No room for advancement. Only outside supervisors hired in the past 5 years (with no previous Aerospace manufacturing background). Management has lost focus on the big picture and is only interested in metrics. They push very hard for overtime, yet they have no idea where that time is spent. The result is that the same people abuse the overtime when there is no work to justify it. Huge emphasis on safety & improvement ideas, but this is only to pad the metrics for a manager or director. Immediate supervisor really clueless and rarely gives positive feedback. Very demoralizing environment. With the current management it will never realize it's full potential. The current HOS system is a one size fits all and no one there has the guts to tell Mr Cote that guess what, one size does not fit all. I guess that when you have dysfunctional management you cannot trust them to run the show so you have to come up with an act that will satisfy the shareholders. Touche Mr Cote. You are a great ringleader with the circus you call HOS.

Honeywell has a really good early careers program.

Cons

If you like upstate New York, then it's a really pleasant place to work.

Pros

The team is great and people are excited to have you there. You are given value-added work and projects week 1. There are a lot of other interns at both the graduate and undergraduate level so there is a strong sense of intern community and support. If you have to relocate for the internship, complete housing is provided (they find you an apartment and pay for everything - results on the apartment itself may vary but are generally close to the office).

Cons

Varying start dates led to varying first day experience. The onboarding day for those who had it day 1 was great, but some interns got it after their first week and had little direction day 1.
