Pros

- Some nice folks on the team - Very smart, creative content designers - Great leadership in some remote areas of the company

Cons

- CEO and CFO resigned rather suddenly following some serious issues with Think Through Math (now Imagine Math) and the Chicago Public Schools. (To learn more, Google "Imagine Learning Chicago Public Schools") - New leadership is clueless and the company is a rudderless ship until the owner picks up the phone and tells them what and how to think. - It seems if you go on a few dates with one of the Co-President's brothers, you can be a terrible person, nasty and deceitful; yet, you will get promoted repeatedly - even if you clearly have no skills or accomplishments within the company. - Everything starts out fine when you first start, then things change. I guess sometimes it's not the people who change; it's their mask that falls off.

Imagine Learning Response

Thank you for your review. Thank you for noting our great product and our smart, creative team members. We want to honor your other perspectives however you make some claims that do not ring true. Individuals at Imagine Learning are absolutely promoted based on past contributions and the belief that they are the best candidates for the job. We look inside and outside the company for innovator thinkers, strong leaders, and employees with vision and experience. Admittedly, we’ve gone through huge changes over the past year–both in leadership and product—but these changes have set us on the course we’ve aimed at all along. It can be hard when people are let go in the midst of change and we understand those feelings. We’re glad you noted the smart, creative members of the Imagine Learning team that you were able to work with and that we have great educational programs. Thank you for your contributions to helping students gain access to these tools.

Pros

Pay is competitive. Remote work. A few days a week of regional travel at the federal compensation rate. This has been an educational entry-level job to learn the basic stakeholders and sales cycles for K-12 curriculum. The people I work with are great and knowledge/experience is a strong resource at this company.

Cons

The higher leadership of the organization does not foster a positive, collaborative culture. Different teams/regions work in silos. Any collaboration and communication happens primarily by our own individual efforts. Also, systems change yearly. It's difficult for everyone to adapt, and as a result the sales team has little faith in following the process. Job security is iffy. There has been continuous talk of eliminating my position in my state for over a year now.
