Pros
Staff are friendly and seem to have a good relationship both in and out of work.
Cons
I was contacted by the company who found my cv online claiming that I would be perfect for a role they had to offer, when I replied asking for more information about the role they told me just to come in for an interview. This was the first red flag but I figured I had nothing to lose and went along anyway. The role was described as a marketing role when in reality it was massively field sales related. I was given all this information about how I would be able to progress really quickly in the company and could be manager within just a few months. They made the job seem very exclusive when in reality they were recruiting 100s of people every day. They offered me the job and since I needed the money I figured I’d take it and see what it was like. I had my first shift where I worked 13 hours outside in 0 degrees and didn’t earn a penny due to the job being commission based, and in fact it cost me money due to all the traveling involved. I think it’s ridiculous that there’s no base rate because employees are considered ‘self employed’. It’s safe to say there was no way I was returning for a second shift, and I saw at least two people walk out on their shift half way through the day! It’s a shame because the staff were all so nice. Clever way of getting free labour from naive graduates I guess!!
