Pros
Johnsonville is the best company I’ve worked for. I’ve been here for four years, and across multiple coaches, one thing has stayed consistent: this company genuinely invests in developing its people. Growth here isn’t just talked about, it actually happens. Johnsonville puts real value on its culture, and it shows. They mean what they say and actively work to live their values. This organization has helped me grow not only as a professional, but as a person, husband, and coach. I owe a lot to Johnsonville for the opportunities, trust, and coaching I’ve received. I truly wouldn’t want to work anywhere else. I believe the Watertown, WI location has the best culture in the company. There is something special about the people and the environment here. It feels different in a positive way, and it’s better than anything I’ve experienced elsewhere. We are growing at a tremendous rate, and that naturally brings change. Some negative reviews may come from long-tenured employees who see evolution as losing our way, but I don’t believe that’s true. We are adapting to grow while still doubling down on our values. Pay and bonuses are competitive, Retirement benefits are solid, and insurance is good, though not the best I’ve had (insurance).
Cons
Because Johnsonville is growing quickly, change can sometimes feel fast and challenging to keep up with. New processes, priorities, and structures can create short-term confusion or extra workload as the company evolves. Communication can occasionally lag behind the pace of change, especially during larger transitions. At times, decisions feel top-down, and it can take longer for feedback from the plant to influence outcomes. Work-life balance can be difficult during peak periods or high-demand seasons, and some roles may feel stretched as the business continues to expand. However, this is not pushed by coaches, this is a personal choice by many, as most of us want to do so well. The company does support work-life balance and defiantly works with members at all levels to get them the time off when needed. Insurance benefits are solid, but not the best compared to some other companies. While overall compensation is competitive. They did bump the 401K from 4% to 6%, and you are vested in your 6% 401k match right away, which is awesome! We no longer have profit sharing in our 401k. Long-tenured employees may sometimes struggle with the company’s evolution, which can create tension between maintaining tradition and embracing growth.
