Pros
- An OK place to start just to get some experience - Co-workers are mostly friendly and fun to work with
Cons
- They run out of things often. How can a concessions company run out certain beverages and supplies during an event? Absurd. - Pre-work meetings often start 30 min. or so late, which leaves bartenders scrambling to get things ready on time. - Doors are open and often bartenders still don't have the inventory they need. - No training. Eight weeks after having been hired there has still been no training session, which they keep promising will happen. - Despite having not been trained, employees are held accountable for things they haven't been taught. - About half of the hours spent on shifts will be on non-tip earning duties (At $4.29 hr.) - After "finishing" shift, you are required to wait in two huge lines for cash counting and paperwork before you can leave. These usually take 60 - 90 minutes total (at $4.29 hr.). - New hires tend to be placed in the lower tip-earning bar locations. Some nights you will earn as little as $12 total in tips. - Too many bars and bartenders in the arena. For most events, there doesn't need to be a bar every 30 feet with 2 bartenders at each one. - Little if any time to eat during a shift. Very little is said about when, where and how employees can eat. Many go full shifts without food.
