- Pretty much a Chinese company operating under the guise of its HQ in Singapore (most of the key team is actually based in China) - Lack of a Northstar where everyone is aligned on the common direction resulting in points being raised but nothing is done or is veto by the country teams as its not aligned with their metrics - Applying systems, processes and methods from one region to another w/o considering if it works locally - Founder who clearly cannot manage, lead nor inspire; while you took the company from 0 to 1 (a story that you repeat at almost every townhall), you clearly need a proper CEO/leader. I have been at startups where post each townhall with the founder/s everyone feels motivated and pumped and not confused and disengaged (its clearly not your strength to inspire) - Good folks either were fired or left (some dubious/untouchable ones continue to be around). While there are still good ones remaining, its a matter of time before they too get fired or throw in the towel but its unsustainable - Firing a big bunch of employees before the year end, not giving anything to help these impacted folks and keeping hush about it If you are reading this to understand what you are getting yourself into, caveat emptor... you have been warned by the many who have posted. This is not a rant (ok maybe some are), but if I had someone who told me this back then, I would not have given up my good career elsewhere to join Lingoace.
