Pros
Good intentions, ethics & origins behind the company and ingredients. Originally was the perfect job with a sense of community and support.
Cons
Totally depends who your manager is as to your experience working there. First manager was supportive and genuinely engaged with brand ethics and staff; new manager has changed the store into a profit over people machine where those seen as weak (e.g. physical/mental health/disability or not willing to follow orders blindly which go against company/legal procedures etc) are weeded out and harassed or bullied until they leave. Career development only for people personally favoured by the manager. Health and safety procedures and basic hygiene not followed. Increasingly higher levels of supervision and questioning on staff's every move. Poorly managed disciplinary and grievance processes. No HR department or area managers. Discriminagory and bullying culture in upper management and mentors. Changes to contracts without consent. Incorrect pay and working time directive issues. Denial of employment rights. Unethical treatment of staff. Many more just within one store!
