    I worked at Lush part-time

    Pros

Fun working environment with friendly staff and great benefits.

    Cons

Store was often very busy with shoppers, not the job for you if you’re not a people person.

I worked at Lush part-time for more than a year

    Pros

The people! They become like family - customers and employees. The products, the ethics etc etc are all fab as well. The discount too!

    Cons

They are unlike any other retail job. The pride of luxury customer service can sometimes be difficult as pressure mounts/there’s regimented responses to your individual success/failures. Sometimes being 100% happy/smiley on the shop floor while pushing the most expensive gift box at a customer can drain you but it’s a sales job and that’s what you’re there to do.

Shifts are short around 4 hours but this increases around Christmas

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Lush full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Super chilled place to work. Fantastic perks like laptops and free products. Very little management oversight so you can do what you want.

    Cons

The company change direction at the drop of a hat. They are afraid of committing to a project so will drop things once they are nearly complete. Management play favourites massively so secret projects will be announced that you have no idea about then get dropped quickly before you know what they were ever about. And the favourites have already moved onto the next big thing. For a digital company they outsource all of their actual work to other companies whilst actually only finishing half baked projects that take a couple of weeks to get done because the rest get cancelled before that. Also they have a big habit of lying to people and flagging valid complaints as negativity.

I have been working at Lush part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Lush pay London Living Wage within London which is £10.55/h, you get 50% discount on almost everything except knot-wraps and tote bags, but does include spa treatments. A free spa treatment upon employment, and a guaranteed contract. They also provide a free private 24/7 counselling service you can access independently and confidentially which is really nice.

    Cons

I found it quite difficult to negotiate more hours on my contract, but I don't know of anyone who has had any issues reducing their hours if that's a problem.
