More like a high school and if you don’t fit into the clique you will be excluded and bullied. Once went a month without my team speaking to me because one girl didn’t like me. Management favour some members of staff and this is VERY clear. Most of the managers sleep with other team members So much gossiping it gets out of control. A lot of managers don’t actually know what they’re doing, when you ask for advice they just say to ask someone else or that they’re not sure because they haven’t done it in a while. The pressure put on you every month to meet targets is awful. If you don’t, this is publicised to the rest of your team. This leads to a lot of anxiety. Reporter bullying to one of my managers who said there was no proof. Not trusted as an adult, they watch your every move.

Pros

They had the option of pursuing a purely technical career path, as opposed to eventually being on the management track. By the way, I took early retirement in 2005, but GlassDoor doesn't allow the entry of a year that far in the past.

Cons

They no longer exist in the United States, having been purchased by Bank of America.
