This job physically isn't possible. - Housekeeper Marriott International Employee Review

Pros

Every single person who works there is like a sit-com character. I could watch the workplace dynamics play out for hours.

Cons

People were fired daily for simple mistakes and because it relys on the labour of immigrants who don't always have the right to work here, it's almost impossible to hold them to account without ruining your co-workers life. You are aslso expected to work overtime for free if you don't complete all your rooms on time. The job is simply impossible - I worked 5 hours a day, I had to clean 10 rooms at a minimum which is in theory half an hour for each room, which is already pretty stretched if you work 5 days a week. However, there's a morning meeting every day, you have to wait for your sheet every day, you have to stack your trolley daily, you have to hoover and dust the corridor every day and none of this is accounted for. Literally the only way to successfully do this job is to learn what corners you can cut and try not to kill yourself with the stress of being found out.

Pros

Free meal, great management team that genuinely cares about the employes.

Cons

Employee parking is a daily struggle with no real solution in sight. Traffic in/off the island is just as bad. Co-workers are hit/miss. Some care and truly want to do their part, others just there for a temporary paycheck. A lot of turnover with new faces weekly.
