Pros

* Great work life balance and loads of clubs run by employees efficiently to keep you engaged outside of work - from Hill Walking to Playing Board Games. * Global Mobility. You are in Dublin and fancy working for a team in New York, London, Pune, St.Louise, Singapore or Nairobi - it can't be easier as long as you have added value to your team. * Genuinely considerate towards staff. Example: 2 months of paternity leave and 1 month of bereavement leave across all locations. * Health care for you and your dependants * Very good for interns where they are treated very well with promising career aspects. * Diversity isn't a joke. It is taken very seriously. * Generous bonus plan that comes along with annual review * Lateral and upwards career move internally happening all the time * Fully sponsored Cornell Tech MBA programme and loads of courses available on internal learning platform for people at all levels * Depending on the team the opportunity to work on interesting back end, front end and mobile technologies * Ideas and innovation are encouraged all the time by means of short hackathaons to programmes that run and progress through several stages over months - internally known as Idea Box projects. Encouragement to build your ideas on anything new and relevant.

Cons

* As other reviewers mentioned at times certain things are overly bureaucratic. As long as you know your way, it isn't too hard to get by. * If you happen to have colleagues on both ends of the world your Dublin Day at times will be very busy and long. * There are many layers of roles to get the project running. Having people from all those layers aligned is a challenge and that adds to delays.

Pros

Mastercard does a great job fostering an inclusive and supportive environment. There are genuinely good people throughout the organization, and leadership often invests in employee engagement through events, recognition, and culture-building initiatives. I enjoyed many of the relationships I built while working there, and there are teams that truly care about collaboration and supporting one another.

Cons

Compensation at the director level did not feel competitive compared to the level of responsibility expected. Career advancement can also be extremely challenging due to how top-heavy the organization is with senior leadership roles. There are a large number of Senior Vice Presidents, sometimes without clear scope or experience aligned to the title, which creates limited room for high-performing employees to grow. At times, it felt like senior leaders were being hired primarily to manage or communicate with other senior leaders, rather than drive meaningful operational impact. In product and go-to-market roles especially, priorities are often heavily driven by funding decisions. It can be frustrating when projects suddenly shift in importance or remain underfunded for long periods of time while awaiting senior leadership review. This sometimes leaves highly talented employees in limbo, unable to move initiatives forward despite strong momentum or market opportunity. The organization can also be very comfortable with the status quo, which creates a slower pace that many employees seem accustomed to. For people who are highly motivated and eager to drive change, it can feel difficult to navigate the number of roadblocks and layers of approval required to move initiatives forward.
