Pros
- Opportunity to work with incredibly smart and well-rounded people, (which can be intimidating at first but is ultimately a great plus) - Extensive ability to interact with colleagues across functional areas including consulting/client services, product management, engineering, sales, as well as with the firm's senior leadership - and recently colleagues from MasterCard - Job includes a variety of tasks that keep things interesting: running analysis with our software, drafting articles for publications, supporting the launch of a new product, accelerating sales processes with research or custom materials - Incredible opportunity to contribute directly to the growth of the company - your voice is definitely heard and your ideas can turn into real change - Benefits are great including health, dental, $50/month for fitness (ie gym membership), 3 weeks vacation at entry level, lots of FREE FOOD in the office - Fun work environment - I sometimes feel like i'm still in college balancing academics, social events, extracurrircular clubs, intramurals etc. since there are plenty of opportunities to interact with new co-workers on rec sports teams, APT's "data dive" or hackathon, company outings, starting year "class events" etc. -- not to mention that the vast majority of employees came to APT right out of college which contributes to the unique work environment
Cons
APT puts a lot of trust in its new employees right out of school, which is awesome, but can also be a source of stress. It takes some adjusting to learn to appropriately manage time and workload. Within marketing, the team gets requests from across the organization so understanding how to best triage and prioritize is key, but management is generally understanding and seeks to make sure no one is overloaded.
