Pros

The people are great. The management have given me personal time to help me work through what areas would I should focus my development in and have helped me to find good contracts that fit me, My CEO has personally come to me to suggest the best contract for me (and it was indeed a good fit!). I also like that the company tries to only higher the top tier developers (their highering me was clearly a fluke), as this means I can trust felllow masterpeace employees to be competent and useful resources to learn from. I've even had multuple people make themselves available to serve as a mentor for me if desired. However, the biggest pro has got to be the most unique aspect of Masterpeace, they are not just a contracting company! They are working to spin off new companies, and provide their staff with the resources and means to build brilliant ideas. If you have a bright idea for an application or product that could be profitable, but don't know how to move forward with it, Masterpeace definitely has the resources to help you put together a team and build it. Even if you don't currently have any such ideas your welcome to join a team that is working on a product you consider interesting. This is where much of the learning opportunities and mentorship oppertunities come into play. You actually get a very real portion of shares in companies you create the idea for or work to develop, if you manage to make it through a successful spinco you have the potential to do quite well for yourself.

Cons

I'd argue it's biggest pro is also it's con, Masterpeace is looking to build new companies not just be a contracting company. If you have no interest, or time, to commit to helping with spinco's then you are missing out on much of the potential of the company. While masterpeace is still a great company even if you don't join their spinco, and less then 1/4 of their developers are active in spinco's, the company will have less to offer you. Since the company reinvests their profits primarily into spinco's that means that they will never be able to offer you top tier compensation in the traditional approach (salary + vacation), though they still manage competitive compensation. You get an additional compensation in the form of every employee getting some stocks in every company that masterpeace spins off. This compensation is a sort of higher risk, but higher potential profit, sort of compensation, since those stocks can be worthless if the spun off companies don't succeed, or far more valuable then traditional compensation offers if those spun off companies thrive. In the end if you are looking for a traditional contracting company and only interested in direct salary and vacation time, with no interest either in helping spin off companies or the excitement of potentially owning a decent amount of shares in new companies, then Masterpeace will be a good stable company, but nothing special compared to other small contracting firms. It will still have the positive of wonderful management staff, but other companies may be able to best them slightly in direct compensation.

Pros

-The company organizes various events and networking opportunities to keep employees engaged. -The concept of startups or "spin-off companies" ("spincos") emerging from MasterPeace is intriguing, but it doesn’t provide tangible benefits for the average employee.

Cons

-Engineers are underpaid compared to industry competitors. -The interview process is excessively long, tedious, and repetitive. - Turnover in leadership creates instability within the company.
