Pros
The hourly crew is usually pretty dependable and friendly. You'll get plenty of walking in. I averaged a few miles a shift.
Cons
The management is hired on a "who you know" basis, not a merit system. Company is reducing most hourly staff to 24 hours for the Affordable Care Act, but is publicizing the 600 jobs they are adding. Hazardous. When I left, hypodermic needle use by thieves was on the rise. One of my co-workers was maced. Loss Prevention is Hands-On. Pressure Point Control System is learned and used. You will get bumps and cuts. You also must double as fire/health/safety officer. You do have an arrest quota. You need 16 points a month. You get one for thieves approached that get away. You get 4 for arrests. I was "let go" for failure to reach quota, so it is enforced.
