Pros

-management is personable, friendly -very easy to get those 40 hours if you ask for it -coworkers are, for the most part, very friendly

Cons

- Unionized by the weakest and probably very corrupt union I have ever come across. They protect the bad workers while doing nothing for the good. - Pay is low for a retail store compared to other non-unionized stores. My starting pay was the same as Target's, with a 5 year difference between them. Why is there even a union when we can't even get competitive pay rates? - The punishment system is great, if you're only sick once or twice a year. Heaven help you if you get to that fifth day off, you're not allowed another sick day for a year after that. -Ordering system (the third in less than two years, I believe) is really bad. -Distributing center often mislabels boxes/orders. -Lots of stuff getting thrown away every 2 hours. -When corporate decides to stop by about every two weeks, suddenly management becomes very concerned with how clean the place looks and you'll spend hours cleaning. -Appreciation of what team members do is virtually non-existant. While I am sure most managers are thankful for their employees and some actually do say thanks, it feels like we are never awarded for going that extra mile or two or three, depending on how lazy the other people in your department are. -Old, outdated, unsafe equipment seems to be the rule rather than the exception.

Pros

The fashions manager was nice and she was understanding about circumstances and things that just come up in life. The points system was also cool because you could cash out points for restaurant or Mastercard gift cards on top of regular pay.

Cons

After the remodel, they started cutting everyone's hours because they couldn't afford the workers they already had. This was irritating because they would cut part timers down to 12 hours a week but give you four hour shifts, so you didn't qualify for breaks you were already used to and also because four hours is not a lot of time to get down and dirty in a task and actually do it well.
