Pros
Work/Life Balance is adequate. And the work itself can be enjoyable. Great place if your a terrible employee who just wants paid to do as little as possible with no confrontation.
Cons
Below market pay but will tell you they pay competitively. All Management at the site has no experience managing (all past scientists), let alone how to control a budget (backward priorities.) Do not communicate to employees in any way unless something negative happens. Moral is awful within site. Management has a "close our eyes until the problem disappears" attitude because they fear confrontation. No ability to move up unless you have a master's or PhD or are part of the directors outside social group. And if you do, little compensation difference. Terrible building maintenance and unsafe areas to work because of shoddy contractor work. Bonuses only given to higher up management (site manager and above). Only 3 weeks vacation after 5 years and 4 weeks after 15 years (if you can stand it that long.) Measly little 3% annual raise a year, which does not out compete inflation, increased cost of health insurance, etc... Ends up being 0% raise when other costs are factored in.
