Poor work life balance in NPD (I see those poor guys working past 7pm and on weekends all the time).
Pay is below average for Chicago.
Office is very young and is in sore need of more experienced engineers.
Not the best place to work for older people. All the older people I’ve met felt left out of the social groups and don’t get as much visibility.
Very strict timelines and can be high pressure in NPD.
Most management here are slave drivers and work you to the bone. Most Engineers quit or get fired within 3 years.
Not enough engineers and too many Project leaders. This is a Huge problem in the outdoor power groups.
Transferring out to another team can be difficult especially if you are in NPD. They’re trying to hold onto engineers as best as possible.
