Pros

- Excellent training - Big company but we had a small office (circa 10 people) in Vancouver. This meant that we had the global brand and the backing of a larger group but could almost operate autonomously as a small agency without being a small agency. - The commission structure is excellent, the money is there for you if you make an effort. - Promotion opportunities... to a certain extent. - Office location - prime downtown location which made meeting candidates very easy. - Superb place to start out as an IT recruiter

Cons

- Lose too many good recruiters due to rigid bureaucratic management structure. - Way too many "all colleague" calls which take up an hour or more at a time. I felt these calls were often a huge waste of time and it was very difficult to get back in to the swing of things afterwards. I felt that the message from senior management could have been relaid to our own in branch MD or sent out as an email.

Pros

I am a current employee with Modis as a national recruiter. I just wanted to say that the training program they have was great and definitely beneficial in my learning. I liked how we were able to learn each aspect of the recruiting process bit by bit throughout the program so that it was easy to master each part; rather than being thrown to the wolves and having to learn everything from sourcing to interview preps and extending offers all at the same time. In comparison to other training programs I have been a part of, it was a very nice change of pace to have the recruiter/sourcer relationship, where you can work directly under a senior recruiter to get feedback and have them act as a mentor to your learning. Weekly webinars were also a great learning tool, being able to get deeper insight into the roles that we are recruiting for helps to create more confidence in knowing the skill sets necessary to fulfill our job requirements. All in all, the sourcer training program definitely set me up for success to feel 100% confident in my recruiting abilities moving forward.

Cons

For the most part there are no cons that I have been aware of yet. Of course any good job is not going to be easy and there is effort that needs to be put forth to be successful, but Modis definitely provides the tools necessary to success.
