Pros

Great Ambiance: Working there was delightful. The view was breath taking, and the bar's design was truly appealing. Social Interaction: Like any bar it allows for regular interaction with customers, which gave me opportunities to meet new people. Tips: Due to it being the only Rooftop bars in the city centre of Rotterdam, it attracts a lot of customers, which resulted in a steady amount of tips compared to the other bars that I had worked in.

Cons

Difficult Bar Supervisor: A highly controlling and inflexible supervisor, consistently insisting on his own approach, even when it led to slower outcomes. He frequently reprimanded us for minor errors, yet would casually dismiss his own identical mistakes with laughter. Additionally, he displayed rudeness and took great offense if we suggested more efficient ways of doing things. I sensed a particular issue with my supervisor, particularly in his role of roster creation. While everyone else enjoyed a monthly weekend off rotation, I found myself working every weekend. This persisted until I brought the matter to the hotel manager's attention and voiced my concerns about the situation. Indifferent Bar Manager: The supervisor from the breakfast shift was promoted to the role of bar manager despite lacking knowledge of bar operations. Frequently making errors in stock orders, she struggled to handle night shifts when occasionally assigned, requiring us to provide training. Inefficiency Concern: The primary factor prompting my departure from the job was the frustration with the inefficient operation of the bar. The management's reluctance to consider and incorporate any suggestions added to the overall dissatisfaction. Feeling Unwanted: Experiencing reprimands and accusations of dishonesty when calling in sick contributed to a sense of being unwelcome. Additionally, despite the supposed employee benefit of a discounted stay at any Motel One hotel, I consistently faced refusal whenever I sought to avail of this perk.

Pros

Flexible time, depending on who you work with you will have a friendly atmosphere; you don’t need to speak french or dutch, they are ok with English

Cons

Management can be bad and ignore what its employees need; late shift; hectic shifts specially when colleagues are sick and they can’t find replacement on time
