Pros

I've worked agency before but Mutant is unique. You work hard but not it's not long hours. You are given freedom but with it comes the responsibility to deliver. It's an awesome fun culture but also one of high performance. The CEO also runs a brewery plus and always has a fully stocked private bar for the office.

Cons

The focus on freedom and creativity works for me but people from a more corporate background expecting to be told what to do every step of the day struggle. The people it works for, stay, learn and develop for years - the people who can't handle that struggle.

Pros

Great culture and brands to work for. With all the layoffs at other agencies - it seems promising to have new wins and growth here. Management seems to be more hands on than in other agencies which is nice to see. Many opportunities to learn and grow your career here.

Cons

It’s definitely challenging and fast paced - with global clients that expect only the best. Some late nights or weekend events expected with client events.

Pros

flexible hours and hybrid work

Cons

country manager micromanages a lot although she never does the actual work. We have to follow her way (even when it’s not what client wants) or we’ll get a write-up for insubordination. Sometimes a deck takes 2 months to review with her constantly changing her mind revising and theres no clear direction. Favoritism exists because there’s one director who’s always taking MC and leaves every other week, and likes to throw her juniors under the bus when problems are due to her bad project planning and lack of guidance. She’s been here for 5 years+ so if you know how to schmooze for that long without doing actual work, you’ll be fine. This company punishes efficient dedicated workers with more work. If there’s no business, you’ll end up doing work outside of your scope like admin work or deliverables for another department, which can’t be in your favor if you’re looking to grow your career.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We take concerns like these seriously. We understand how important clear direction, consistent feedback, and timely decisions are for teams to do their work well. Over the past few months, we have been working to set clearer expectations upfront and improve how we review and approve work so teams can move faster and with more confidence. At the same time, we want to acknowledge that periods of high workload - especially across multiple markets and large projects - can create pressure at times on teams and leaders alike. During these periods, there are often factors behind the scenes (including resourcing shifts, leadership responsibilities and more) that may not always be visible day-to-day, but are actively managed to keep work moving and clients supported. We take feedback around fairness seriously. Expectations apply across all levels, and we place strong emphasis on recognising consistent contribution. We regularly review how work is allocated and supported to ensure this remains fair and balanced across the team, and will always step in to help support team members when they need to take leave. That said, if something does feel unclear or unfair, we strongly encourage team members to raise it directly through our internal channels. Specific feedback allows us to address issues constructively and ensure the right context is understood on both sides. Thank you again for your feedback. It helps us continue improving how we work, communicate, and support our teams. - Lina
