They have beer in house to wash away the pain. Try to have events that help boost morale every month. Given some freedom to research ideas.
Cons
poor management skills as they are just promoted developers. lack of direction for the company. understaffed resulting in developers being over worked without stopping. knowledge loss is an issue and results in wasted time and functions not working as intended. In addition, if key players leave the product would suffer.
