Pros

The pay is high and the typical Bay Area culture is good. As is heard in the hallways, we're "kindler and gentler" (than their top competitor, EMC).

Cons

Travel (depending on the position). There's a lot of arrogance about being the best. This may have been true a few years ago, but there's lots of competition in the storage industry now. I think many employees rest on their laurels and are resistant to change. Not that they don't work hard, but they have blinders on and assume their stuff is still the best. cDOT is a good product, but the complexity of moving from "7 mode" is a hinderance to profits. Things aren't necessarily rosy for NetApp as their revenue keeps falling due to competition.

Pros

Amongst the top companies in the data storage industry = company stability.

Cons

If you'd ask me a year or 2 ago, I would have given the company 5 stars. But, as with most tech companies now, they've started to follow the trend of return to office, regardless of logic. There's little to no room for exceptions and the company would rather sacrifice productivity regardless if they know the hardships for people living in metros (one way commute to the NY or SJC office can take 2 hours one way!) - that and there's no commuter benefits. You have to pay out of pocket and live in fear of not receiving your bonus if you miss the "thrive together" quarterly requirements.
