Pros

Great place to work if you're a journalist. One of the few places left that has the time and energy to dig into stories others can't get to. Developing some seriously strong interactive/multimedia muscles as well.

Cons

Tech development is mismanaged and constantly bottlenecked. Company is chronically slow to make decisions, culture of too many people involved in too many meetings is unabated. Overall business strategy seems clearer and more promising since Mark Thompson came in as CEO but changes in the marketplace may overwhelm any possible strategy.

Pros

Challenging and rewarding work. You'll work in an environment that publishes the news everyday, if you are excited about helping people learn more about the world, you'll love it here. Good benefits, hybrid work, and really smart coworkers.

Cons

Does not pay like big tech but as an IC you'll be part of union with job protections
