      Pros

      About the only good things about working at the OFA are the pension & benefits and the downtown location beside the Eaton Centre.

      Cons

      It is a horribly stultifying work environment that is rank with favouritism and bureaucratic BS. Directors and managers take credit for all your work. Most managers have no other experience than government. There are increasing complaints by staff about harassment that remain unaddressed. If you are older than 40, stay away. Younger workers are favoured and the only ones who advance.

      Pros

      I had an amazing time at O.F.A. people from all walks of life, around the world put their lives on hold to volunteer, intern (and some were paid FT employees). Also, of great value, the cross-training turned out to be invaluable (for me personally) because it aided me in changing my career focus. Once I am re-established I would consider volunteering on one of their future projects.

      Cons

      No real downsides -- just wish I had been able to hop on board two years earlier!
