I certainly value your perspective and opinion regarding the past 12 months. That being said, I have a different view. Optanix is a company undergoing transformation. And transformation can sometimes be hard.
We are changing from a narrowly focused managed service provider to a full-service software provider. The skill sets (and frankly, attitude) we require to do this are not the same ones the company needed ten years ago.
To that end, Optanix is keeping the very best of our existing team focused on our core business, while at the same time expanding in strategic areas. Those unable to step up or evolve are probably not at the right company. We actually do have openings across development, sales, operations and product management.
In fact, we have promoted 9 managers from within the company over the past year and our sales team coverage by 200+% year over year. We have also returned product management and marketing to traditional levels. It’s worth noting that the number of C-level employees has not changed since the inception of Optanix. We have however, brought in best-in-class leadership across key functions in development, HR, marketing, sales, and product management that know the industry very well and know how to execute.
The market is changing, and we have an awesome opportunity to leverage our capability in large complex environments such as Contact Centers and Unified Communications and apply that on a much larger scale in adjacent markets and modernize for today’s cloud enabled world. Hanging onto the past is not a recipe for future success – especially in technology.
I am truly sorry that Optanix did not work out for you, or for the others you mentioned that didn’t stay on to see the transformation completed. We are making progress. The “new Optanix” just celebrated one of the most successful quarters in years. We are on track to release more versions of the product in the next year than in the past five years. In the prior quarter, we beat every financial goal, increased our development velocity by 300% from just 6 months ago, and our new bookings pipeline is 2x any other point in the history of our company. And, we have signed on more partners than we have ever had.
