Pros
-- Good team with many people who have been here for a while who are willing to help
-- The company is small enough in that you'll get to know most everyone and have your hand in a lot of different things, but not too small.
-- Its products are well-known and respected in the marketplace. Plus, you'll get to test drive most of them.
-- Its a private company, so many of the rigors of a public company do not apply
-- 7 hours workday (7:30-3:30), although there are many times where you'll be expected to work more
-- The business is fairly simple to understand.
-- Nice offices that are centrally located to Jacksonville. You don't have to pay for parking.
-- Solid company that is stable
-- Overall positive culture
Cons
-- The size of the company means that opportunities for advancement are few and far between. The company is growing (covid aside), but not quickly.
-- The company is below average in its competitiveness with compensation. There is no incentive compensation offered and they like to point to the 7 hour workday as the reason for below average salaries, but you won't always get to take advantage of that unless you work in certain departments.
-- Health insurance premiums are outrageous. Some of this is just the nature of the cost of healthcare in the US, but my monthly premiums doubled when I came here.
--Sometimes stuck in ways of the past. Not always forward-thinking in certain areas.
