Pros
Work can be interesting if you like politics
Cons
-horrible pay. I felt bad for the associates/senior associates who are paid worse and are basically forced to work overtime so they can afford to live in the area. That isn’t the worst part though. Every time you take PTO, sick leave or holiday leave they subtract that from your overtime hours from that pay period. Which incentivizes you to never take PTO and if you do take it, they basically get away with not having to pay you for it (by not paying you for the overtime you worked). -the women at the firm are lovely but the men are god awful. There’s one PA managing director that is so annoying and misogynistic it’s uncomfortable. -the other teams are better but DONT work for the research team. The male bosses are the absolute worst. One of them is seriously lacking in professionalism and makes women uncomfortable with things he says (telling people not to tell HR when he says inappropriate things) and commenting on people’s weight. In work conversations he is ruthless and so rude that it is shocking. Everyone on the team actively hates this man. What’s worse is his boss on the team doesn’t correct or reprimand him for his inappropriate behavior. It’s totally bizarre. The retention rate of this team reflects the behavior of management. After working there for almost a year, over half the team quit ( some without another job lined up). These men should not be in leadership positions and it’s shocking that HR hasn’t identified that they’re must be a serious problem on this team given the turnover. In conclusion, could not be happier that I left this company. Management is terrible. Pay is worse. And they make you go into a silent office almost everyday just to slack the person next to you. I’d rather be unemployed than work here.
