Pros
Lots of good programs for helping people to grow, if you take advantage of them, exchange programs, mentorship and tuition programs. A great worldwide network of business and employees. Better vacation time than most other companies and they are pretty understanding of personal needs and schedules.
Cons
The first problem I had with the company was definitely the IT systems, they are using technology that has been out of date for the past 15 years or longer. This means that everything takes longer and all information must be entered multiple times. Additionally, the amount of systems never decreases, everytime a new mandate is put in place, the ops teams have to add one more task to their daily routine. This makes for a stressful workday. The more recent problems are related to management; everything is constantly changing. It seems that corporate has misguided priorities and a lack of direction. They will start a new program one week and then cancel it the next, without giving it the time it needs to be succesfull. New offices are created, just to be shut down a year later. Do they really think that everything will turn an instant profit? There is also a huge disparity between the pay for management and ops Some of the top execs have outrageous expense account and their use can be questioned. Last but not least, the elephant in the room; it is an old boys club. Each office that I've worked at has had a decent number of swiss or german managers, but very few swiss or german people at the lower levels. This is not saying that the people in these positions don't deserve these positions, because many times they do. However, it does give a bad impression to most of the other employees. My advice, try to learn German and go out with managment whenever possible.
