Pros

Viacom's Brand is well known throughout the world. The company has made significant upgrades to office space and also built an exercise center that is subsidized by the organization.

Cons

Where should I begin.....Viacom's senior management is focused on their advancement and financial gain only. One significant example, is the fact that the organization has experienced two significant layoffs and reorgs due to management's claim that financial goals and targets were not achieved. However, the chairman and most senior executives continue to earn millions of dollars in annual salary, base compensation and long term incentive awards, while most employees are awarded a 3% increase on an annual basis. Senior management is truly a old boys club that takes care of their own. One recent example is the appointment of Philippe Dauman as Chairman. In addition, many executives have acted inappropriately and their actions were somehow swept under the rug. One should never complain about any inappropriate actions as it is highly likely that person will be terminated. Programming is quite stale as it is based heavily on reality TV. After all, how much women clawing at each other can one tolerate. As a result of the horrible programming, advertising revenue has decreased significantly, and the stock value has declined drastically. Morale is extremely low across the entire organization and management simply does not seem to care one bit.

Pros

People who were at Paramount before the Skydance merger remain talented and amazing people.

Cons

The post-Skydance merger Paramount is an aimless corporate with zero resources, and respect for existing employees. Senior management are coming from Disney, and they’re hiring all their previous Disney colleagues, while laying off employees that have been at Paramount through ages. There has also been a shift in demographics where White men control the power. It’s disheartening to see amazing legacy leadership get demoted and sidelined in favor of incoming White male leaders from Disney. The new senior management will say things like, “We want to invest in people that will stay with us and grow,” yet layoff an entire division that have kept this company running through all the transitions. The disrespect is just ridiculous.
