Pros
Outside of a paycheck, I can't think of any pros to working for Pep Boys. The real Manny, Moe and Jack died over 50 years ago.
Cons
Store employees must take responsibility for everything bad that happens. NO excuses or explanations are excepted by upper management. Outdated catalog software and computer hardware. Very slow special order process, if you get the part at all, no tracking system. Web customers get emailed that the order is at the store when it has not even shipped yet. More impulse items on retail floor than actual car parts on the shelves. Outside purchases require using TWO software packages and about 30 steps to complete. Bi-weekly stock orders, don't even bother trying to get special orders shipped with stock order. Store staffed below skeleton crew levels leading to loss of sales and rise in shoplifting. "The customer is always right" Smile and take it even if you know for a fact that the upset customer is ripping you off. Even if they admit it, you can't do anything but give them what they want. Online shop appointments are controlled by the amount of bays in the shop. 12 bays equals 12 appointments per hour. Even if there are only two under trained lube techs to do the work. Every day one must deal with customers that have to wait, frequently for hours, for service appointments. Almost useless inventory management, I would find incorrect counts EVERY day, could not keep up. Assume the worst case scenario for every thing else.
