Pros
Fantastic break room with video games and a pool table. Only use them in off-hours though, after all, you want to meet your quota of 'billable hours'. Some great employees - There are some VERY talented people there. Some good, unique benefits - Though they are no longer as comprehensive and amazing as some slightly older online articles and award would have you believe, there are still some good ones - discounts on clients' products, free gym membership and bicycle loaners to name a couple. The prestige of working for PixelMEDIA - since not many people know what really goes on inside the ivory tower, many will still look at you in awe and say "wow, you work for PixelMEDIA? I hear it's REALLY hard to get in there - you must know your stuff"
Cons
Over-abundance of egos - mostly from the top down. PixelMEDIA is certainly not the best small business to work for in NH (my current employer would actually beat them out in heartbeat) and definitely doesn't put out the top-notch, innovative, cutting edge work they think they do. Work quotas - everybody has to make sure every minute of their time is logged and woe to you if you don't meet the required 80% billable hours. Even if you are in sales or marketing - I ask you, how are the people getting new business supposed to be 80% billable to existing projects? Client churn - Once the owners or key stakeholders get bored with a client or feel the client is getting slightly high-maintenance, they write them off and shift focus to whatever new client is in the building, hoping the old client will just 'go away'. Unfriendly environment - not that anybody is mean or malicious, but nobody smiles when you pass them in the hall, says hello at the beginning of the day, or asks how your weekend was. Again, that would cut too much into the billable hours quota. Poor handling of employment termination - this was what pushed this review from a 3-star 'ok' review to a 2-star 'dissatisfied' review. Do not ever leave PixelMEDIA for another agency job in the NH Seacoast area. I cannot go into too much detail while remaining anonymous, but I can name 5 other ex-employees that had similar experiences when leaving.
