Pros

Paid break. Free food. Career progression. Parties and Friday drinks organized by the company in cool places. Overall a nice and young work environment.

Cons

Often over working. High pressure. Stressful. Unpaid sickness. Often hires bad employees who give the whole team some really hard times. If mystery shopper gives a bad review, all the team members loose money: no matter who made the mistake. Hard shift times (you could start at 5 am in the morning, finishing at 11 pm if you have to close or even work at night if the shop requires it). Be careful not to fall in the trap of the happy family: it's a brainwashing strategy to make you forget you're just the piece of an engine to them.

Pros

My experience working at Pret A Manger as a Team Leader was extremely stressful. During the hiring process, I was told I would have at least one weekend day off, but that promise was not kept. The workload was overwhelming. The company frequently operated while short-staffed, and there was constant pressure to work double shifts. The pay did not reflect the level of responsibility expected of a Team Leader. Another issue was the work culture. If you called out sick or needed time off, there was often pressure to come in, even on your scheduled days off. I also did not enjoy the location where I worked, and I did not feel that the company valued or respected its employees.

Cons

You get free food the only good part of working here.
