Weird and uncomfortable dynamic - Anonymous employee Proximity Space Employee Review

Proximity is truly an awesome company. The culture of gratitude and inclusiveness, the intentional conversation around all issues (the fun ones and the tough ones), and caring about the entire employee (not just the 8am-9pm employee) is not only unique but wonderful. Even in a remote first atmosphere, it's inclusive.

It is a smaller team, so every so often you're wearing a few additional hats. However, it's handled with endless gratitude and you never feel taken advantage of.

Proximity is unlike any company I have ever worked for before. From day one I knew this place was different. The people are what make the company what it is. Everyone on the team is so supportive, inclusive, and willing to help each other out. It's really something special. A few examples: >> On Monday mornings we go 1x1 and update each other on what we did that weekend and what our top priorities are for the week >> We fill out a short "How Was Your Week?" survey every week that goes into a company-wide email where we give each other high-fives and shoutouts - it's heartwarming and makes me feel so good and appreciated >> At the end of the week we have a lunchtime send-off where we say how our week went and what we are doing this weekend ^^ In a hybrid/remote world, these things are really important and help me to stay connected to the team and get to know them better. There's no micromanaging. You're expected to do your job and do it well. Work-life balance is encouraged. And, the people are just COOL. They hike, they camp, they ski, they live in the mountains, they have chickens, they drink coffee, they love dogs, they are kind, they are caring, and they are wonderful humans. I'm honestly just so dang grateful I get to work for such a great company with such a welcoming culture. It makes all the difference in the world and makes me want to work hard.
