Pros

There are many pros that Prudential has that makes it competitive: work/life balance, benefits, bonuses, business casual dress, overall professional atmosphere, highly experienced, friendly, and helpful co-workers, tuition assistance, generous PTO, and the company brand itself. I haven't heard of anyone in the outside world that hasn't heard of Prudential.

Cons

Although I loved this company, Prudential also has several cons which may eventually lead to its overall decline in value; - Massive layoffs of experienced and dedicated employees in favor of outsourcing its talent overseas in order to save money over the short term - The overall compensation is lower than the industry average - The lack of opportunity for advancement - Nepotism - The average worker is overworked and isn't usually compensated well enough for it - The leadership is very hit or miss. Sometimes you have extremely competent and good leaders while others will throw you under the bus to keep their job - This company outsources too many of its positions offshore and makes the average employee constantly fear for his/her job - Senior management is very tone deaf when it comes to listening to employees' legitimate concerns, as it seems that the average employee cares more about the company than the executives do

Pros

The culture and the way Pru treats it's employees is wonderful. They vet their hires thorougly, so you rarely find anyone that is not terrific in their role. Their benefits are also great.

Cons

Current AI adaptation has sent the tech side of the organization into a bit of a spin, as it has in almost all organizations. Due to that, some reorganization have been occurring, and many very talented leaders have been laid off. But the focus remains on the customer always, and no doubt these changes will level off soon.
