Have to work 3 years to vest pension and 401k which is kind of a bummer. Overall, company is in a major shift. Recently did a Voluntary Separation Program which led to over 10% attrition. Lots of folks with institutional knowledge left but so did some dead weight which is good I guess. The politics between the various businesses have always held Prudential back. People are loyal to whatever business unit they work in rather than the firm as a whole. That goes all the way to the top.
Promotions are very political especially in the Chief Marketing Office. People that have come from Citigroup for example promote their own buddies while rockstars who are not part of their click get left out.
