Pros

Collaborative work environment. Great attention placed on communication - management meetings, quarterly planning, all hands, etc. There is a lot of autonomy given to its people, trust to make the right decisions vs. top down management.

Cons

Executives lack focus and don't seem to care about leading the company in the right direction. The lack of adult supervision causes major thrashing. It is possible the execs actually care but are just out of their league. Rally has recently hired several executives with requisite experience for a public company, but it is hard to tell if the old regime will step out of the way. There are major issues with the product that has been ignored for years. Sales and marketing can get a foot in the door with new customers but once the product is used major disappointment sets in. Again this is the lack of leadership - not focusing on building a good, user friendly product, but just being feature driven, which isn't much of a strategy. Certain execs are not held to the core values the company spouts. Trust and respect is apparently optional if you are good 'ol pals with the Emperor.

Pros

The co-founders cultivated a culture of focusing on value and sustainable growth. People took pride in their jobs but also genuinely cared about one another and their personal lives. Probably won't experience again!

Cons

Not a ton of room for cross function promotion.

Pros

Rally offers a great work / life balance and if you are on the development side of the house especially in Boulder you are well taken care of. There is a great team atmosphere and for the most part and the development team gets a long well together. And There is always free beer on site and people playing pool, video games or ping pong!

Cons

Rally promotes having a great culture and for the most part that is true but I have sat in a few meetings where teams have cussed out other teams specially between the Boulder, CO vs Raleigh, NC office. This is an area which needs some serious improvement. Rally defiantly likes to play favoritism and I have seen more then a few talented people pushed out the door because they where vocal about things the company does wrong. If you can keep you head down, stand in line and do as your told even if you don't agree with the direction then you will fit in here. If you have your own ideas which conflict with the few decision makers this defiantly isn't the company for you.
