Pros

Working from home - eventually wore off. Some nice colleagues, more so the other trainees.

Cons

Bullying and gang mentality from colleagues who thought they were Editors, despite only being reporters like oneself. Name calling and abusive phone calls after hours. Often singled out for simple mistakes. Expected to work like a senior reporter on trainee wages. Work never appreciated even when you lead the paper out through difficult times. Long hours as Depute Editor would try and fill up news stories for other papers days in advance instead of finishing that day's paper. Often worked an extra three or so hours but were made to feel like you could not criticise. Ended up having to phone in sick through stress and was asked by HR if I wanted to put in a grievance, but was too scared about other colleagues and being bullied more. Wouldn't give me time off despite asking for it weeks in advance because a senior reporter wanted it off, too.
