Pros
Above all, when you join Rippling (IMHO), you're joining a mission based company. Our colleagues have the opportunity to not only impact amazing small and medium sized businesses, but also their employees - people like us. We are bringing modern technology to an antiquated industry. We are putting payroll, HR, IT and device management tech in the hands of employees making their onboarding/offboarding experience amazing and simple. On the flip side, entrepreneurs/founders/executives of companies want to focus on their company and not admin work - we directly make their lives easier so they can be the best company they aim to be. The second reason I joined Rippling was because of the people. Meeting the sales leadership, seeing the executive board and their ambitious outlook for the business, motivates the staff to run fast and hard. We are changing an industry that's been complacent with their customers, whether it be with innovation, service or experience. From the CEO, CLO, CFO, VP Sales and COO, these leaders are transparent, encouraging and thoughtful in their approach to building a culture and organization that values the hard work necessary to achieve our incredible business and product goals. When you're at Rippling, you not only feel like you're impacting the business, but you are impacting the business and the customers. The amount of kudus our colleagues get for their efforts (from Rippling team and our customers/prospects) is very encouraging and gives you confidence in what Rippling is accomplishing. I would like to add the diversity in the Rippling leadership is impressive, seeing People of Color and LGBTQIA+ folk across the company and across roles/management gives me comfort that folks with diverse backgrounds are welcomed, encouraged and valued. Lastly, Rippling is all about opportunity. I've met so many incredible colleagues that started off at Rippling as a lower level role and are now managing teams and advancing in their career. The career growth opportunity has never been more realistic than at Rippling. I spent 5+ years at a Rippling competitor and their employees were stagnant, not advancing their careers and get burned out. If you're interested in gaining tremendous experience and creating immense opportunity for yourself, join Rippling.
Cons
Onboarding to Rippling with their tech platform was impressive and seamless, unfortunately COVID changed onboarding for all companies. Not having the in person welcomes, the inability to provide new hires a truly welcoming experience was a downside. With Rippling being a pretty remote first company, a downside is not being able to really get to meet, know and collaborate with your colleagues. Fortunately Rippling provides many tools for us to work together, but nothing replaces in person collaboration. High potential compensation at a startup isn't necessarily realistic. They need to control their burn rate and overhead expenses on talent to be able to innovate and scale faster. With that, Rippling places high value on stock versus paying highly competitive salaries and commissions. Legacy companies have the ability to offer heavy salaries, but they are not in scaling/startup mode and since they don't have room for career growth, they have to rely on high salaries to keep their employees. Rippling may not offer the crazy salaries that other tech companies offer, but you're building a multi billion dollar company and scaling your own career at a much faster pace.
