Pros

Best Training I have ever received Best Coaching I have ever received Great people Very structured (can also be a con) Forces you to compete You'll learn how to manage your time You'll develop a strong work ethic and mental toughness (if you don't you're out) Learn great negotiation techniques Learn how to sell

Cons

Long hours - 40 hour work week is non-existent if you want to succeed and not get fired No work from home option They say they want feedback but dismiss ideas Too much process Be prepared to lie and cheat if necessary (this place can get shady very quick) Hostile work environment Pointless meetings Terrible KPI's Tries to be google-esk but has a real old school mentality Be prepared to be micromanaged Must drink the Koolaid Recruiter: Salary is meh! Variable pay is good (but you gotta work long hours), if you do a comparison of the total hours you work vs. what you're being paid it's bad! Account Executive: Wages are above average but you work for it and you can lose it in a flash Benefits are not great High turn-over (similar to other big staffing firms) Learn the ropes and get out, this place is great as a first job out of university and for young people new to office settings. The only people that talk positive about this place are people who have never experienced the real world, management and account executives because they make the $$$. There are hundreds of staffing firms this one is mediocre at best, they do anything to win and are very shady. If you can avoid drinking the koolaid learn what you can and go make more money elsewhere. Other option: Drink the koolaid, put your nose to the grind stone (if you don't do this it's over), take an Account Exec position (cross your fingers you get good accounts), and MAYBE you'll make some money, if not you have that on your resume now and you can get another job easy! Message for consultants: Places like this drive rates into the ground, working for them supports low rates.

I think this is great, very balanced. We did upgrade our recruiter comp, and we formed a group of recruiters and AEs to provide the guidance. We do have a rigid process, the benefits are the best training, coaching, and skills you can get in the recruiting industry. The cons are that the process works and we dont like to change it or experiment with it. We have tried many things over the past 29 years, but we do stick to what works best, and ask everyone on the team to run on process. We are a like a sports team this way, we work as a team and do the plays as a team, and do the plays we train on and practice. It doesn't work for everyone, however it is, as you say, the best training and coaching in the staffing industry. Whether we get positive or negative reviews of glass door, the training is superb, everyone agrees on that. Regarding the meh recruiting pay, we did fix that. July 1 onward all recruiters starting at S.i., even without any training start at $50K base plus variable plus commission. Plus we give everyone an extra week of holidays compared to our peers. Thank you for the review! -Derek

Thank you for the review. Chicago has been a valuable operation to us, we opened it up to get our first experience using our MatchGuide teachnology in the USA, and it has paved the way for us to do acquisition in the USA, of which we will do many over the next 3 years. Chicago was our first USA website, curated database, timesheet to cash process for fully sourced, hire and training on our curriculum, and many other firsts. Our Chicago team has some great talent in it and is doing well creating a foundation curated database of local talent. Chicago is very similar to Toronto and there is potential to have a similar sized organization there, it will require some acquisitions, however that is how we built out Ottawa and Toronto in Canada, then followed on by organic growth. Your point about USA profile is correct, we will need to do a marketing campaign to get candidates onto our website. Acquisitions with a good brand and additional curated candidates will also help. I'm very proud to have an office in Chicago, and a team there. We have local mind and management and are ready to grow. We will! - Derek
