Pros
Some good people still work at SAIC. Many of the jobs are "work at home", because it reduces SAIC's overhead.
Cons
No matter how well you perform, your job lasts only as long as there is a customer to pay the bill. A raise in pay is likely to be the kiss of death, since it cuts into the profit margin. Sometimes, the raise and a layoff notice come in the same package. The tools needed to do your job are also impacted. Nearly everything is "self help" now, and maintaining access to required systems like email can be quite problematic. Getting a response from any of the corporate services like HR can take weeks, *if* you even get a response. Corporate resources have been cut to the bone.
