Don't work in the IT department. The CIO and his top manager have fostered a toxic environment of backstabbing, missed deadlines, and broken promises. If the CIO tells you anything, get it in writing or he might conveniently "not recall" having the conversation. Watch out for carrot dangling and non-committal language.
