Pros

Once and if you get your foot in the door, the company offers a lot of upward mobility. Very good benefits.

Cons

The company tries to do too much with too little; not enough tooling, not enough support (lack of supervisors and planners), taking "lean" to the extreme, not enough parts on-hand to accomodate deadline goals, too little head-count (constantly working OT during the week and weekends). Departments do not work together; too much animosity between them. The US plant has to depend on France to provide parts which don't always come in on a timely basis. Way too much time spent on filling out spreadsheets to repor numbers daily. Too many reporting/tracking systems to keep up with.

Pros

People are treated very well at Safran. They might not be the highest paying Aerospace company in the USA, but they have great benefits, management, and people. And still, the pay is usually competitive.

Cons

The headquarters are in France and therefore you need to be open to a different culture. Additionally, French and English are used sometimes in communications.

Pros

Many learning opportunities for troubleshooting different types of avian generator control units. Opportunities to work with a variety of engineering departments including production, test, quality, and industrialization. Occasional overtime opportunities.

Cons

High stress due to production deadlines, especially at the end of month. Miscommunications due to constant reprioritizing of needs. Difficult to move from short term (1 year+ only) contracts to full time positions.
