Pros
The company is working hard to revamp their image. They are putting dollars behind new initiatives to try and bring the business into the modern retail age. Company culture “Can Do” Attitude creates a mostly positive place to work in the corporate office. Regular town hall meetings with leadership keep the teams up to date on progress with new initiatives. There are some great people who work there. Exposure to big brands and the opportunity to work with some truly amazing brands/vendors. Benefits are average for medium sized corporate companies - all the basics (health, dental, vision) plus some nice extras and an employee discount. They are trying to hire good qualified talent.
Cons
The company had been around for more than forty years and was drastically underserved. Many areas of the business are years behind other retailers because of this. The company regularly “restructures” their teams, realigning business units, letting people go and then hire in another area (1-2x per year). Teams are drastically understaffed and some critical positions are open longer than they should be. The office location is in Denton and many people don’t want to commute that far north for work. The company overall doesn’t allow remote work either. Pay is on the lower to average side, depending on the role. Retail is rough everywhere these days. If you decide to make a career stop at Sally, just know it probable won’t be for long.
