Pros

I enjoyed working with the original team I was hired on. Benefits are good. 17 days of PTO.

Cons

Pay is abysmal compared to other companies doing the same work in Boulder. Flex-schedule is advertised, but realistically 9-5 is expected. Did not feel like I could take PTO without causing friction with the team. I was hired as a scientific developer, but within a couple of months I was reassigned to a project that I was told was more important. On the new project, I was continuously assigned tasks which amounted to "fix a broken component I had never seen before, with no explanation of what it is supposed to do, and which cannot actually be fixed from our end because the primary contractor owns the code." This was obviously a demoralizing set of assignments, which almost seemed targeted at me. A few months into the project, I found out my managers had been accusing me of not doing my job in reports which contradicted my contemporaneous notes. When I finally handed in my two-weeks notice, my manager sent me home the next day after lying to my face about continuing pay and benefits through the two weeks. Management at this company talks a lot about how much they care about their employees, but in my experience this is just gaslighting. When I approached my manager about the stress I was under, I was immediately told to find another job, with the implication being that I couldn't get a better one. I could and easily did.

Depending on the portfolio, a great place to work with many opportunities to shift and grow.

New hires getting into management are making the culture less pleasant.
