When I read this, I wasn’t sure if I should respond or not. And, what to say? But in the end, I took the advice of my colleague writing this review, to live the Sectra Values, and answer.
I am the Country Manager and am responsible for how my team feel about the job, the pressures and how they are managed, developed and rewarded. And I agree completely, the Sectra team are, to put it simply, outstanding. Why? Because they care about each other and their customers and they have the skills, the ability and the freedom to act. But the reviewer puts it best when they say, “nice colleagues make work easier to get through”.
The advice I have been given is to “start listening to your staff, live the Sectra Values instead of pretending to”. To this I say yes, and I am sorry that anyone in my team feels that I haven’t. We want our colleagues to ask questions, make suggestions and address problems or concerns and I believe, overall, they do. We are a strong and successful organisation and continue to grow but I must ensure we all feel good about coming to work every day. And of course, we shouldn’t interfere too much and let the real work get done.
