Pros

Great facilities, ongoing training, lovely people.

Cons

“The Sectra Way” means that employees are encouraged (expected) to share hotel rooms when travelling for business. Lovely as my colleagues were, I didn’t want to share my hotel room with them after working with them all day.

Helpful colleagues ensure customer support is delivered for customers no matter how much management interferes

Cons

There is never enough staff to meet customer demands, CO senior management don't seem to understand or care about customers, they only care about profit margins and pretending that everything is great for the bosses in Sweden

I was glad to hear that you found the team at Sectra helpful to one another but I would respectfully disagree that I or the management team do not care about our customers, it matters a great deal to me personally that we support the NHS and all our customers in the UK & Ireland. I can, without fear of contradiction, tell you that the CEO of Sectra cares more about customer satisfaction within the countries that we operate than profits in those countries as he truly believes, as do I, that happy staff and happy customers combined with innovation and energy will in time bring sustainable growth. But clearly you feel differently, and I must respect that but I would also invite you to contact me and share your experience so I better understand your point of view and, if needed, make any improvements, both personally and within my organisation.

Country Manager surrounds herself with "yes" people and rewards incompetence. Real work is done by employees on the ground who keep the business on track despite the interference of the management team

When I read this, I wasn’t sure if I should respond or not. And, what to say? But in the end, I took the advice of my colleague writing this review, to live the Sectra Values, and answer. I am the Country Manager and am responsible for how my team feel about the job, the pressures and how they are managed, developed and rewarded. And I agree completely, the Sectra team are, to put it simply, outstanding. Why? Because they care about each other and their customers and they have the skills, the ability and the freedom to act. But the reviewer puts it best when they say, “nice colleagues make work easier to get through”. The advice I have been given is to “start listening to your staff, live the Sectra Values instead of pretending to”. To this I say yes, and I am sorry that anyone in my team feels that I haven’t. We want our colleagues to ask questions, make suggestions and address problems or concerns and I believe, overall, they do. We are a strong and successful organisation and continue to grow but I must ensure we all feel good about coming to work every day. And of course, we shouldn’t interfere too much and let the real work get done.
