The guests are friendly and often nostalgic about Shoney's.

The owner/CEO doesn't seem to invest back into the business. Same equipment has been broken for 7+ years, Corporate management doesn't listen to staff concerns about these issues or doesn't care. Absolutely zero benefits. No health insurance, 401k, sick pay, etc. No incentive for employee retention.
