Pros

The UK (EMEA) team are fantastic, loyal, hard working people who truly care about the success of Shootsta The London office (Working From) is fantastic, really cool space to meet and socialise with people

Cons

I felt extremely undervalued for the work that I was doing, and was paid significantly less than male counterparts doing the same role who had "Senior" titles. It is extremely worrying that Shootsta have no plan to deal with the significant lack of females in positions other than lower levels. There are no women in the senior leadership team, it felt like an old boys club (logging onto meetings where constant references to sport/lad culture was a regular occurrence) and the CEO's response when questioned about the lack of females in senior positions was met with "it's not for lack of trying". Zero plans in place to promote internally, reward top performers or metrics to help understand what it would take to be promoted - extremely demotivating culture to be a part of in this regard. At times it felt like you had to be a friend of the leadership team to even be seen with a chance at getting some sort of promotion which was disheartening. Unlike a number of tech companies, zero perks/benefits on offer, and you only get 20 days holiday, yet senior managers appeared to have unlimited holiday. I had 3 managers in 10 months - this was unsettling and unnerving, changes were made at the drop of a hat with no consultation. There is no sales training or enablement at all, and you're basically expected to sell off the bat with no strategy or process in place, which makes selling incredibly difficult , especially because Shootsta don't appear to know what they're trying to prioritise or go after in order to hit huge sales targets. Regularly used the excuse of being a "start up" for mistakes and lack of strategy, constant change. There would be a big company overhaul every 3 or so months because leadership aren't patient enough to stick with changes made, and this appears to have been the case for a long time based on the more tenured peoples experience

Regarding HR support, we recognise the need for a dedicated HR department to provide guidance and address employee concerns. We are actively working with reputable HR firm to enhance our support structure and ensure that employee issues are addressed promptly and effectively. Your suggestion to decentralise decision-making and provide more autonomy outside of the leadership team is noted and strongly encouraged. We apologise if any communication from the company was insensitive or offensive.
