Pros

Shorehaven is a good local provider of behavioral health care services both in home and outpatient. -Plenty of referrals available -Flex Hours -Clinical Training -Easy to access and communicate with management -Full suite of benefits

Cons

Many employees are on commission so be prepared if that is new or not your preference. Reimbursement rates are dependent on payer contracts and trends in the local behavioral healthcare marketplace. Not really cons but factors to be aware of.

Pros

Very friendly and helpful support staff. Leadership is also friendly and hands off; they allow for autonomy.

Cons

Not necessarily a con per se, but since pay is commission based and we are paid when the insurance decides to compensate us, there's an ebb and flow to paychecks. You earn what you make, so no paid leave, vacations, etc. and no income for no shows or cancelled appts. This can be frustrating, when you have a week where there's a lot of cancelations (e.g., bad weather prevents people from coming). But, if you expect this, it's not really a big deal.

Pros

Shorehaven will teach you and support you through licensure and beyond. You can set your own hours as long as you work the required number. Has a good retirement plan and other benefits that are reasonable.

Cons

There are a lot of staff at Shorehaven. Some of them are very helpful, but many are not. Many do the bare minimum. Office politics can intrude on work life. The staff and leadership are given vacations, whereas the therapists are not. Many therapists leave after licensure.
